About Us
Carey Hill Baptist Church has a rich history of faith and resilience. It began in 1890 when our ancestors gathered in a brush harbor near Carey Hill Pond to worship and seek spiritual strength. On June 22, 1890, the church was officially organized and named after the pond, with Reverend Lewis G. Gardenhire delivering the founding sermon, “Upon this rock I’ll build my church” (Matthew 16:18).
Today, under the leadership of Pastor Brandon L. Dotson, who began his service in 2015, we continue to thrive with renewed hope and flourishing ministries. Inspired by our founding members, we remain steadfast in our mission to honor God and serve others.
